I started to lay the groundwork for B-F.R.E.E. Inc. as a non-profit organization in 2010 and later received 501(c)(3) status in April of 2012. The goal of B-F.R.E.E. is to support and help fund youth based sports and fitness programs throughout Central Ohio by working with local athletic boosters and other non-profits to create fitness based fundraising concepts that encourage a healthy lifestyle for both children and adults. B-FREE now provides several opportunities around Columbus for people to participate in workouts such as Yoga, CrossFit, Boxing, Spinning, boot camps, and other fun ways to get exercise and meet people while raising money and building awareness. Our new program “Fitness for Real Estate” is designed as a fundraising program for youth sports and boosters programs across central Ohio. The “Fitness for Real Estate” program is a collaborative effort between Realtors,® mortgage brokers, title companies and other real estate related businesses like general contractors, painters, home security, and others. All of the businesses involved in the “Fitness for Real Estate” program have agreed to donate a portion of their profits from the work generated by the program back to organizations that support youth fitness and sports. Whether it be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of commission, “Fitness for Real Estate” will be able to raise a significant amount of money for boosters and non-profits simply by being referred by parents and organizations. The goal is to make a significant impact to the bottom line of these great organizations by providing a source of fundraising that does not require any upfront costs or take up the precious time parents have to spend with their families .
