Jason spent the last 20 years serving in various leadership roles at Levi Strauss & Co. (LS&Co.) - twice achieving one of the company's highest awards for excellence. Most recently, he was the Director of Operations, Finance and Communications for the Levi Strauss Foundation, the company's philanthropic foundation. In this role, Jason was responsible for all communications – connecting the stories of the foundation and its community partners to LS&Co.’s CSR and sustainability narrative. He also served as a key subject matter expert on philanthropy and CSR, providing guidance and input to leaders and departments across the company. Jason was a key member of the team that developed LS&Co.’s global environmental vision and was active in advancing the company's DE&I initiatives with employees - serving as an ally leader on the company’s women’s resource group (Rivet). In addition, Jason oversaw all aspects of the foundation’s operations and finance - including its $70 million investment portfolio and $10 million annual grantmaking budget. Prior to his current role, Jason held leadership positions in LS&Co.’s Corporate Affairs function. For five years, he was the Global Director of Community Affairs, where he led a team that worked to create a positive impact in communities around the globe through employee volunteerism and strategic NGO partnerships. Before joining LS&Co., Jason worked for the Northern California Community Loan Fund, where he created and managed a financial training program for grassroots social justice organizations. Earlier in his career, Jason worked in leadership positions at Habitat for Humanity in the Bay Area. Jason holds a Master of Business Administration from Boston University’s Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire, where in 2023 he received an Alumni Lifetime Achievement award from the university’s Sustainability Institute. Jason is a mentor with the Unreasonable Group and serves on advisory boards for Mercado Global and the University of New Hampshire's Sustainability Institute. He previously served on the Net Impact Corporate Advisory Council and is a frequent speaker on the topics of corporate philanthropy and CSR.Jason is an avid runner and cyclist, enjoys playing tennis and loves sending postcards. He lives in Oakland, California, but also spends significant time in his home state of New Hampshire.
