Jason is a forward-thinking healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience in value-based care finance, operations, strategy, and business development. He holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University and has multiple skills in risk adjustment, process improvement, health plan operations, and population health.As the VP of Business Development at Optum, he leads deal team pursuit of market partnerships and creates hospital system partnerships to establish risk-bearing entities, increase risk lives, and broaden the Optum Care Network of providers. Previously, he was the Vice President of Risk Adjustment and Quality at Intermountain Healthcare, where he directed the administration and oversight of clinical and analytical operations in a fully delegated risk arrangement for more than 100,000 Medicare, Medicaid, ESRD, SNP, and ACO lives. Jason is continuously learning and innovating to find and cultivate the future of population health and risk-based healthcare in the United States. He is a subject matter expert in healthcare analytics, finance, and team building, as well as health plan, health system, and medical group operations. He is also a published children's book author and public speaker on matters of risk-based healthcare, including risk adjustment, provider incentive development, and specific micro-strategies to improve risk and quality metrics.
