Worked alongside Azure team members to get Citus building and running against various forms of Windows and PostgreSQL. Aided the effort to integrate Citus with Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL.

Developed Citus' first open-source offering, pg_shard, a PostgreSQL extension for simple table sharding. Managed its GitHub page, including community issues, pull requests, and contributions. Assembled a continuous integration matrix to test against multiple versions of PostgreSQL and to ensure compatibility with existing PostgreSQL code. Presented the extension in talks, conferences, and workshops.Building on pg_shard's success within the community, helped merge its unique functionality to Citus proper, which itself was undergoing a transformation to an open-source extension. Working alongside PostgreSQL core committers, took Citus from a closed-source PostgreSQL fork to an open-source modular extension. Continued to give presentations on Citus technologies.Heavily involved in hiring pipeline. Acted as a mentor for new technical employees, despite enormous time offsets (Istanbul to Denver).Productized Citus' release pipeline: moved from customers building from source to offering around twenty combinations of OS and PostgreSQL versions; signed packages of signed tags. Worked to upstream the package into Debian and Ubuntu repositories.Developed and offered an official Citus Docker image, turning the first-run experience of a complex cluster database into a docker-compose one-liner anyone could run on their machine.Migrated CI pipeline from Travis to CircleCI; build times were cut by 2/3rds.

Modernized technology and coding practices within the DMP UI team, helping to develop UI and backend features for their Publisher, Admin, and Buyer web properties. Pushed code reuse by developing libraries for shared UI widgets, authentication patterns, and cross-site navigation

Integral in designing, developing, and operating Amazon CloudWatch, a web service for monitoring resources in the AWS cloud. Development involved service-oriented architectures, asynchronous topics and queues, fault-tolerant partitioning of data, batch jobs, embedded and remote databases, test-driven development, and deployments to dozens of datacenters worldwide

Designed and coded a beta for the company's real estate inspection tracking software using Maven, WebSphere, PostgreSQL, Hibernate, Spring, JQuery, and DWR

Helped develop a new wide-scale, high-availability logging service for use within Amazon. Used Tomcat, JUnit, JMock, the Spring Framework, WSDL tools, REST services, and the Apache Commons Project. Also developed an interactive client for testing and using the new service, as well as in-memory implementations of many of our dependencies.Won the AWS Hack Attack for a collaborative Amazon shopping application developed using XMPP and Processing.
