I always wanted to have a profession where I could work to solve complex problems for people who care about their communities. As a young person, I searched for that career opportunity and, somewhat by chance, I ended up where I am today. 25 years later, I can honestly say that I remain passionate about the local government utility clients I serve. Every situation is unique, the issues can be quite complex, and I truly enjoy the opportunity to break down those challenges and turn them into solutions that work. My career in utility consulting has taken me to interesting places. I’ve led practices at large engineering firms in the past, I’ve worked at small specialty firms, and I’ve owned and operated my own practice too. Regardless of where I am, there is always the entrepreneurial aspect of growing a business. I’ve found I enjoy these challenges too because, while they are fraught with peril, they are opportunities to learn about myself and to grow. In my current role with FCS GROUP, I’ve found partners and a firm who share my passion for helping communities through their most difficult challenges. I’m proud to be a Principal Consultant here where I can focus on delivering solutions first and foremost. I like to share what I know when I can. As the debate in our country continues concerning the quality of our most crucial infrastructure, I find the work I do more and more relevant. The cost of sustaining our infrastructure is high. That’s why I’ve used what I know to help lead our industry when I can on issues like affordability, regional consolidation, and cost of capital.
