The Merchandise Operations Manager is a business-critical role, responsible for the optimisation of merchandise stock flow and financial performance along with the management of online fulfilment, click & collect, safety and compliance. Managing all operational and stock flow activities including the compliance with merchandise from dock to floor / online, replenishment and shrinkage. Dan Murphy's, owned by Woolworths Limited, is an Australian liquor supermarket chain with 226 stores across the country.After a seven-year commitment with the Astor Hotel, I transitioned into a position with the group to identify and leverage merchandising, planograms, and revenue optimisation strategies across the sales floor. This was in addition to managing customer service and experience, inventory control and stock management, sales functions.

The Astor Hotel is a restaurant and bar offering lunch and dinner hospitality services in addition to private function rooms.I managed a large team of 30 employees in operating the restaurant and bar as well as five private function rooms on-site on a 24/7 basis in addition to managing all strategic operations spanning on-the-day service; financial management across budgeting and cost control; and third-party vendor and supplier contract management.I also regularly facilitated training to coach and mentor staff to improve service quality and delivery standards as well as managed stock controls and inventory levels, venue maintenance and Workplace Health and Safety compliance in addition to other compliance concerning Food and Health safety, and continuous improvement projects to improve operations and service for an entertaining and atmospheric establishment.Notable Achievements• Developed and implemented continuous improvement strategies and projects to expand the hotel to hold up to 400 customers through new function rooms and bars, resulting in significant improvements to customer experience and satisfaction. This was in addition to achieving the best average sale price per head of population in South Australia year-on-year.• Consistently achieved overarching franchisee KPIs and maintained an exceptional record of achievement in comparison to other franchisees in Australia and New Zealand.
