Helped develop Communicator Online, a web-based student news outlet, winner of the 2009 Associated Collegiate Press Online Pacemaker.Developed and taught two new courses: Multimedia Journalism and Advanced News Reporting. Also teach Introduction to Newswriting, Mass Media, College News Production, English Composition and Introduction to Literature.Co-creator of the A.A.S.T. transfer degree in Digital Media Production. Worked with faculty and administrators to secure funding and space for a Student Media Lab, a converged newsroom bringing together students from journalism, photography, graphic design and web design to work collaboratively on student publications. Adviser for The Communicator, SFCC's bi-weekly student newspaper and Communicator Online. Since 2005, the ACP has consistently ranked the paper one of the nation's best.Assist students with production using Adobe CS4, Final Cut Pro and Audacity. Responsible for the financial stability and advertising revenue for the newspaper.Under my leadership, the journalism department has shown significant and steady growth in FTE's and has achieved financial stability.
