My primary areas of expertise are workers compensation, automobile liability, general liability, medical professional liability, and products liability insurance coverages. My consulting services with SIGMA involve the preparation of actuarial reserve analyses and loss projections for self-insurers, large deductible programs, and captives across a range of industries. I also perform statistical simulations to model client losses and to assess the effects of varying levels of risk retention.In addition to my consulting duties, I also assist with product development for SIGMA’s Risk66 suite of services as well as compilation of SIGMA’s industry benchmarking data.Recently, I was featured in issue 198 of the Captive Insurance Times as an emerging talent within the captive insurance industry.

SIGMA Actuarial Consulting Group is an independent property and casualty firm. I previously worked as an actuarial intern. My position was similar to that of an entry level actuarial analyst. My duties included• Preparing actuarial reports using Microsoft excel• Analyzing loss data using pivot tables and creating loss triangles• Selecting pure loss rates and claims frequencies• Assisiting in the determination of appropriate future reserves• Performed detailed analysis of report text for actuarial analysesWorking at SIGMA has been my first actuarial job experience. In a short amount of time I feel that I have already gained a significant understanding of what it takes to be an actuarial analyst. I have been able to complete analyses that have been used in actuarial reports, assisted in the completion of analyses for more complex risks, and been able to peer review the work of my colleagues in order to gain a greater understanding of the process of the analysis.

PICA Group is a podiatry malpractice insurance company. The are owned by ProAssurance and work alongside with OUM Chiropractic Insurance Company as well. I worked with PICA Group's policy services and underwriting team for their busy season during the summer of 2015. My duties included •Talking on the phone to policy holders about questions and needs for their policies.•Taking premium payments/claims history payments from policy holders as well as hospitals and credentialing companies.•Sending out policies and policy information (policy renewal information, the claims history of our policy holders, or loss run reports for our policy holders ).•License verification of policy holding practitioners based on state.•Indexing incoming mail/faxes (including scanning received mail, responding to voice mails, and managing the incoming faxes and emails coming to the policy services department).Working at PICA was my first job in a typical business setting. I experienced the nature of what a full time job in an insurance company consists of. I was also able to sit in on company wide quarterly meetings as well as to help brainstorm on what helps the policy services department run more smoothly.
