I led a team of Sales Executives & Relationship Managers, who focused on revenue growth, increasing profitability and client satisfaction. Our team recognized that mutual trust is key to a successful business relationship, and we worked very hard to build and maintain the trust of our clients.

As a Product Management Team Manager, I had the pleasure of leading an amazing team of professionals who developed and managed innovative Receivables solutions that helped revolutionize the Cash Management & Application processes for businesses of all shapes & sizes. I have had a number of managers through the years, and I tried to incorporate the things I learned from each of them into the team I managed. My goal was for the Product Analysts and Product Managers I worked with to continually learn & grow, and to have very successful careers of their own as they designed/marketed/managed solutions that helped to make both our institution and the clients we served, more successful.

As a Receivables Product Manager, I was able to put my personal stamp on the products and services available for clients to utilize. My favorite part of Product Management is that you get to wear many hats: Over the course of a given day, I could be a salesperson, a client, a client service representative, a technical resource, etc. I really enjoyed creating marketing materials that would be used “in the field”, helping to educate our Sales Team on the solutions we sell & share insight with them on how we can be more successful, and especially, speaking to clients and making them aware of developments in the Receivables industry that could benefit them. Two of the accomplishments during my time as a Product Manager that I am most proud of are: Leading a cross-functional team that created a new Electronic Bill Payment & Presentment (EBPP) solution; and the other was the international expansion of a major lockbox network.

After I completed PNC’s Corporate & Institutional Banking Training Program, I worked as a Treasury Management Sales Associate. In this role, I managed a very large portfolio of clients with myriad needs, and was responsible for determining which solutions were right for which customer, and supporting them, not just through the Sales & Implementation process, but beyond that as their needs continued to evolve. During this time, I gained exposure to the entire suite of Treasury Management solutions.

This is the position where my banking (and civilian) career began. I took this position about 7 months after leaving the Navy, at a time when I knew nothing at all about banking and while I was going to school full time in pursuit of my bachelor’s degree. I worked with a wonderful team who took the time to train me on everything I needed to know about banking, Treasury Management (especially ACH), Risk Management, Customer Service, etc. My team also encouraged me to think “outside the box” and to always seek more efficient ways of doing things, which are two things that I have carried with me throughout my career.

I enlisted in the Navy about a year after graduating high school, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Serving my country was an honor, but my time in the Navy has continued to reward me ever since, by instilling a sense of discipline in me, teaching me how to work with a diverse team of people from all over the country, providing me with a “can-do” attitude, teaching me how to work under pressure, and allowing me to establish friendships & share experiences with people that I’ll carry with me the rest of my life. During my time in the Navy, I attended two years of advanced electronics training school, after which I served onboard the USS Klakring (FFG-42) as a Fire Control Technician, responsible for maintaining and operating the ship’s fire control systems. I saw a large chunk of the world, visiting multiple locations in the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf & the eastern seaboard of the US; and even circumnavigated South America (twice).
