My Senior Ecologist role involved working with clients, landowners and local authorities, project management and team support to deliver diligent ecological assessments, clear data interpretation, and developing beneficial solutions in design and mitigation. I managed a range of projects using efficient GIS-linked survey methods for habitats and species such as barn owls, bats, water voles and great crested newts. My work on major infrastructure projects also included Site Ecologist, compliance monitoring and 'geology clerk of works' services. Geckoella Ltd - an excellent, innovative consultancy providing specialist services in Ecology, Geology and Heritage. Work on large infrastructure projects inc HS2, East West Rail, Hinkley Point C connection, Chippenham Futures. Bespoke support for developments, designated sites and protected landscapes. Fieldwork inc: thermal imaging surveys, infrared camera surveys, camera traps, static bat detector surveys and GIS-linked survey methods for e.g. barn owls, bats, badgers, water voles, reptiles, amphibians and more! Preliminary Ecological Appraisal habitat surveys, vegetation and site evaluations. Site Ecologist duties for Geological and Ecological projects. Desk work inc: Ecological Impact Assessments, evaluation and interpretation of complex ecological data in legislative context, data management, bat sound data analysis, GIS mapping management, bid and contract management, resource schedules and logistics, systems development, management team. Qualifications inc: Bat Level 2 licence; Barn Owl CL29 survey licence; BTO qualified C ringer for Barn Owl and Kestrel; Level 4 FISC (Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland); Network Rail PTS; Confined Spaces Awareness.
