Co-leading Social R&D: an initiative to seed the conditions for R&D in social mission organizations. I work with the growing social R&D practitioner community to explore the experiences, peer-support, and resources that they need to do their best work.

Led the team responsible for mainstreaming policy & program experimentation within the department, including increasing the use of novel policy tools (e.g. prizes, blockchain, hackathon, crowdsourcing, etc.).Team was responsible for booting up the Government of Canada Policy Innovation Portal, and the innagural Policy Community Conference. Responsible for the design and execution of the New Ottawa Process: a crowd-sourced/participatory policy development exercise that spanned 4 engagement platforms (canvass, experts, online, events), which was used to inform the political platform of a city council candidate. Responsibilities also included building a fact base on existing municipal services and policies, providing on-demand policy advice for communication products, and leading a team of policy analysts and creatives.

Co-developed a landmine detection Dog Cooling Device (DCD) during undergraduate degree, and ultimately field tested prototypes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.The DCD initiative was a result of a entry in the Canadian Appropriate Technologies in Mine Action Competition (2003), where our two person team placed Second ($2500.00).
