Along with product and business stakeholders, wrote quarterly OKRs and project plans to align engineering with business.- Led EMs and coached engineers into EM positions and served as manager for these EMs. Created new fractional leadership roles to maintain leadership talent pipeline within engineering.- Managed projects including product engineering in our flagship B2B2C product, creation of internal tools for admissions and enrollment, and conducting multi-year technology migrations.- Development and managed process for security compliance across engineering, product, and sales, guiding company to efficiently manage compliance questionnaires and guiding company to SOC2 Type II certification. Ran this together with Director of Product.

- Managed 11 engineers with an average tenure of 4 years. Supported 7 successful promotions.- Ran sourcing, recruiting, and hiring across multiple channels (direct; contingent recruiter; platforms). Served as hiring manager. Introduced a hiring rubric and employer branding site. 16% of phone screen "yes"es received offers. 40% of offers were accepted.

- Built our college application and admissions system (team engineering lead + hand-on coding). Enabled the admissions team of 4 staff to manage 60 part-time work-study students who evaluated over 25,000 college applications annually, 80% during 4-week peak season. Applied NLP to prioritization flows. TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Django.- Shipped features in Minerva’s flagship classroom software Forum over many years. Python/Django, MySQL, React, WebRTC.- Pitched and built Minerva Code Docs, a real-time multiplayer environment for learning to code including code execution backend. Together with 1 front-end engineer and 1 designer. Node.js, Redis, ShareDB, JupyterHub, Kubernetes, React.- Built, maintained, and operated multiple generations of CI/CD/Ops. AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.- Ran a summer internship for 10 undergraduates in Applied AI/ML. Built and taught a curriculum with "Introduction to Statistical Learning with R" and the Fast.AI course. They built ML/AI applications on internal university datasets, largely on NLP problems with RNNs, LSTMs, and embeddings clustering and classification with SciKit-Learn. I built the curriculum along with one undergraduate and ran it independently. I managed data governance and PII cleaning for research. I secured internal funding, ran internship admissions/hiring, coached interns on professional skills (project management, communication, presentation), and technical skills. The majority of the interns later continued in AL/ML across full-time positions, consulting, and published research.
