ZILA is transforming hard-tech manufacturing with drastically cleaner, greener chemistry. Decoupling epoxy resin production from fossil feedstocks is vital to eliminate the high greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and persistent waste in global manufacturing. ZILA has developed a patented bio-epoxy resin platform technology enabling reduction in carbon footprint of durable goods while maintaining performance.

Apart from the previous responsibilities I had as DFO including finance, facilities, operations, HR, and IT, the Board recognizes my leadership in foundational support all other programs/departments; legal and tax compliance; and strategy & support to the Board. Over the past 3 years, I helped change the governance structure to policy-based governance, shift to a collaborative leadership model, implement new integrated software for accounting with new chart of accounts, membership database, facilities scheduling and online giving. We completed mission and vision work, developed a 5-Year Financial Strategic Plan, held numerous classes and events regarding racial justice, initiated a Right Relations culture, brought equity to staff compensations, and continue to reduce our facilities carbon footprint. Moving forward, we will better align the operations of the church with the mission and vision to have greater impact in the community and be able to support the spiritual growth of our members.

The goal of this policy is to reduce carbon emissions and slow climate change, while not hurting our economy. There is the added benefit of reforming our severely regressive state tax policy.
