I enjoy solving problems, building software, and learning new tech. I love leading teams to improve performance while seeing the individual members grow in skill and passion. In decades of experience I've built a wide range of technical solutions, and also teams that deliver high value solutions to customers.My career has taken me from the exciting introduction of images on the Web in the early 90s, through a focused UX design phase, back to core software development, and into software architecture and team leadership and development. The most recent years have been spent growing teams and redesigning software from the start-up-phase ("just get it working and out the door") into long term, sustainable, enterprise solutions. These included several re-architectures (both AWS and Azure serverless/cloud native), and establishing sustainable patterns, tech, and processes to set up teams — and individuals — for a successful future.In our society's increasing reliance on software, I believe software development is a craft that demands quality, standards, development principals, and continuous learning. I believe in servant leadership because a stonger team is more effective than a lone leader. And people thrive when challenged just enough to stretch them a bit. I believe technology is a significant part of the solution to most problems, and I love the challenge that represents.
