ASEE fellow performing research at the Naval Research Laboratory working on wide band gap oxides films for power device applications. Using atomic layer deposition, my work involves:- Growth and characterization of epitaxial TiO2 using plasma assisted atomic layer deposition- Fabrication of VO2 films as opto-electronic phase change material- Development of new copper oxide growth and fabrication parameters for p-type transparent conducting oxide applicationsMy responsibilities also include the fabrication of SiC and AlN nanopillar arrays using e-beam lithography in a clean room environment.

Working under Dr. Jeffery Elam in Energy Systems, I am developing novel composite materials for efficient, stable, and economic light absorbing films for solar concentrated power.

During my time working toward my Ph. D in the department of chemistry at Northwestern University I worked under Joseph Hupp's research group developing new materials for energy applications. My focus is on using area-selective atomic layer deposition for the development of economic metal-oxide material for applications in electrochemical storage and electrocataytic water oxidation applications.

Working with Alex Martinson in the Materials Science Division, I use Atomic Layer Deposition techniques to modify semi-conductor surfaces with self-assembled monolayers or organic chromophores to grow nanoparticles for applications in electrocatalytic water oxidation.

I was a researcher in Prof. Sarah Tolbert's research group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCLA. During my time in this group I resposible for my own research project involving the synthesis of a surface bound poly-ethylene based polymer. The motivation for this work was to create a robust solid-state electrolytic medium for use in 3-D nanobattery array. The project involved self-assembled monolayer application as well as air-free polymerization techniques for fabrication of the material; the skills of which I learned during my time in the group. To characterize the polymer film, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to assess the ion transport in the film. During my time here I developed a reproducible experimental protocol as well as developed a important set of skills I use to this day in my career.
