Jason Riley is a business owner, entrepreneur, and technologist. He is currently the Founder and CEO of a new climatetech company, Hello Electric, who's mission is to digitize and scale home electrification. Previously, Jason was the Founder and CEO of Genability. Genability is a software company located in downtown San Francisco (acquired by Arcadia Power in September 2021). Genability helps new energy companies understand what they and their customers pay for power, enabling smarter use for electricity, and the adoption of more distributed and more renewable energy solutions. Genability has an innovative suite of web and mobile apps, and API's. These allow it and it's customers to give homes and business insight, control and ultimately choice over the energy they use, produce, store, buy and sell.Jason was also co-founded and was Chairman and Vice President (CTO/COO role) of Entessa, Inc, a provider of Enterprise Software solutions to F500 companies. Entessa was acquired by Energy Solutions International (ESI) in June 2010. Jason was an investor and adviser to ESI from then until Sept 2010, when ESI was sold to Oak Tree Capital's GFI Energy Division. ESI is now owned by Emerson.Before Entessa and ESI, Jason worked in leadership roles at C-bridge Internet Solutions, a professional services company providing Internet expertise, and Howard Johnson & Company, a boutique Benefits Consulting firm. There he worked with blue chips such as Intel and Del Monte.Jason's focus is on applying business aligned technology to transform the companies he works for and the industries he works in. Jason believes that climate change is real, its here and that its everyones responsibility to act.Jason was born in England, educated in Scotland. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is married to the photographer, Charity Vargas. They have two children.
