Managed the daily operations and held full P&L responsibility for a mid-sized transport and storage facility based in North Houston. Operations included a fleet of trucks, a storage yard with two mechanic’s bays, dispatch operations, and the administrative / support staff. Handled all purchasing of equipment and supplies and worked closely with vendors to ensure product quality and correct pricing. Responsible for all bookkeeping / payroll for the storage facility, drivers & outside vendors.• Developed new revenue streams for the company by participating in national disaster recovery projects. Managed the redeployment of our fleet to assist in disaster recovery after major flooding events in Louisiana and Virginia.• Led a project to purchase and modify four vehicles to our fleet• Introduced a cloud-based asset optimization / route management program to improve productivity, reduce fleet size, improve time management and reduce fuel costs.• Negotiated a contract with a transportation company to provide our motor carrier services for new, up-scale vehicles from our storage facility to the Port of Houston for shipment overseas. • Integrated Loss Prevention Reporting with the addition of Excel spreadsheets to monitor driver fuel usage in relation to driver production.• Managed storage lot inventory by the processing of all vehicles / inventory received. Secured all vehicles; sent notifications to owners / lien holders; auctioned / sold all vehicles not claimed by owners.• Signed over 15+ contracts with outside vendors / companies to store vehicles at our storage facility.
