As CIO I was the lead senior officer responsible for Information Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, data and information security across the Westfield Group of Companies.Key to my role was to develop, communicate and project the vision for ICT to support transformation and innovation across all areas of the business, through leading development of ICT strategy and managing the budget.Develop and work with key business partners and product development to deliver products and services to support business growth and diversification working with the in-house ICT team and third party service providers.Provide technical insight across the business to ultimately define with the Executive Management Team a holistic future environment of people, process and technology.Ensure that robust contingency, risk management, and business continuity plans are in place to maintain and enforce standards and protocols for the use of information and communication technologies across the business.Take overall responsibility for the portfolio of programmes delivering the ICT strategy, assuring key outcomes for customers, managing dependencies, budget and benefits tracking, communications and engagement, strategic ICT framework specification, development and compliance.Utilise my extensive commercial experience to work within the Executive Management Team on future diversification projects, building strategic alliances and partnerships and acquisitions to provide complementary products and services within the Westfield Group of Companies.

Responsible for whole organisation transformation programme to provide an end-to-end digital experience. Key aspects of the programme are reducing cost while improving customer user experience and customer satisfaction through servicing customers via an omni-channel approach.Commercial responsibilities include forming partnerships, strategic relationships and acquisitions to complement the existing Westfield Health products and services portfolio.Responsible for procurement of Information Communication Technology products and services.

As Head of Technology, Innovation and Best Practice my role at thebigword evolved from the Programme Manager role into one which encompassed working closely with key stakeholders within the business including the Group CTO and The Board to develop and implement our global technology strategy which included infrastructure, 3rd party COTS software and in-house developed software.I was tasked with developing new solutions which added value to the service proposition to benefit our clients and the business at large. This has seen me develop new skills within the Localization sector and look at new ways of developing multi-tenanted high volume online transactional systems capable of dealing with a large amount of throughput. I worked closely with the Technology Department to productise/commercialise the solutions and services enabling thebigword Group to sell technology to other service providers. I extended client reach through building channels with other complementary technology solutions ISV's such as content management systems.I represented the Technology department in client meetings and was as a key resource supporting the Global Sales Teams on client meetings (face to face and via teleconference), authoring bids and tenders across Europe, the USA and Asia. This saw the business realise new opportunities within existing clients and grow its client base through positioning itself more effectively to its Multi-National Corporate Clients within the Finance, Automotive, Aerospace, Technology, Healthcare, B2B Service Provider and Government Sectors.I gained a patent for the highly secure processes included in thebigwords translation editor working closely with a patent attorney. This product is eligible for patent box tax relief representing a significant benefit to the organisation over the lifecycle of the product and enabling them competitive advantage through litigation against competitors infringing on the patent.Acted as CISO for ISO 27001 Certification

Critical Mass acts as a consultancy to IT companies on a contract basis working with client's management teams and existing sales and marketing resource to develop and implement business strategy through supporting marketing and sales activity.We have worked with a variety of clients within the technology sector including resellers, integrators and service providers working directly and often funded through vendor MDF marketing spend which Critical Mass has obtained for clients. Our work is credible such that vendors often fund 100% of the cost meaning no investment is required by our clients for one off activities.We have been instrumental in developing new business models for clients, developing new services, introducing new vendors to partners, and managing vendor/supplier relationships.We act as front line sales consultants working with our client's handling the complete end-to-end proposal/sale/project plan/implementation/post-sales account management role.

Information Sharing Solutions (ISS) is a specialist software development and consultancy company focussed on data management, data feed, reporting and analysis applications.Our short-term business objective was to provide support to Local Authorities and their partners in the implementation of the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) national ContactPoint system.Having completed and delivered our first product a data supply adapter called CPAd, which has been deployed to a variety of Local Authorities, we have continued to expand our product set with development of UserPoint and ISSHub. These will ultimately enable the business to target the general social care sector opening up another market for the company.These two products form our expanded product set to provide comprehensive implementation support for the DCSF’s wider Improving Information Sharing and Management (IISaM) programme, and ultimately to support any local government implementations of central government IT systems.Our client base consists of Local Authorities (LAs), and their partner organisations such as health, independent schools and the Voluntary sector. Our products are also deployed by ContactPoint National Partners which include the largest national children's charities. We have also completed supply deals with some of the UK's largest outsourcing companies which operate in the local Government sector.Our approach is to work jointly with our clients to understand their requirements, and then deliver a high-quality product and service solution that meets their requirements in the most efficient and effective way.
