20+ years of optical engineering experience in medical, commercial, and defense applications including:• Optical design and analysis for electro-optical sensors and systems in UV, visible, and IR wavelengths for both imaging and non-imaging applications • Design and build experience from prototype and breadboard stages through production, including hardware builds under FDA-certified quality system for clinical testing• Experience working on complex systems as a key contributing member of both large and small multidisciplinary concurrent engineering teams• Test experience using custom software for semi-automated calibration of planar waveguide telecommunication modules and using an optical low-coherence interferometer for characterization of arrayed waveguides• Extensive use of FRED and Zemax for optical design, analysis, and tolerancing, including extensive scripting experience• Data analysis and programming using MATLAB, MathCAD, Visual Basic, and Python
