About Jason Schon

Relationships and more specifically, relationships between numbers and metrics. That’s what drives me. Ever since I was child learning math, wondering why I have to deal with yellow Starburst, to picking up my first instrument, the trumpet, learning how to count time, play, and change dynamics all at the same time, all the way to my professional finance career and now even being a multi-instrumentalist, composer, & producer in my free time, exploring these relationships has been a huge factor in my success.I love digging into what’s bottlenecking the work, what parts of the process are efficient, what parts are inefficient, and what’s standing in the way of being more efficient or what do I need to do to simplify this mix because individually, each track is phenomenal but combined, it’s way too busy and complicated. And reworking it is incredibly time consuming and sometimes painful as I remove some of my favorite parts. So how do I ensure not to repeat that mistake on the next track because instead of applying those learnings to the next track, I’m still frustratingly adjusting this one.It’s the same approach in my professional career that has served me so well – continually exploring opportunities for improvement, solving problems before the symptoms arise, and maintaining effective business partnerships to bring clarity to the data for everyone involved.I’d describe myself as a creative problem-solver, someone who loves to roll up their sleeves and play in the mud as much as lead, grow and develop both myself and those around me. Learning and growth should never end just because success was found. Mistakes are a great a teacher. Success is a great reinforcer of positive efforts. But both present learning opportunities because no matter how successful a venture may have been, it could have always been more successful. Recognize the mistakes, celebrate the achievements, and then reanalyze how to do even better in the future and you’ll find yourself reaching new heights in all facets of life.
