As the Communications Director for Crook County School District, I was responsible for all communication efforts for a district serving over 3,200 students. This included managing media relations, digital content creation, and crisis communications. I directed the district’s presence across 11 social media pages and 9 websites, ensuring our messaging was clear, consistent, and engaging. I worked closely with district leadership and cross-functional teams to develop communication strategies supporting educational policy initiatives and community engagement. My work involved everything from producing press releases to planning community events, all to enhance public outreach and strengthen the district’s relationship with the broader community.

I had the privilege of participating in the American Leadership Forum’s (ALF) year-long leadership program, which brought together leaders from diverse sectors to engage in deep discussions around collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The experience challenged me to think critically about leadership and the unique role that rural communities play in shaping broader societal conversations. Throughout the program, I built lasting connections with leaders from across Oregon, and together, we worked on innovative solutions to complex challenges facing both urban and rural areas.This summer, I was honored to join ALF’s board of directors, where I now have the opportunity to represent rural Oregon. As a board member, I’m committed to continuing the work of fostering collaboration and problem-solving between rural and urban communities, ensuring that the voices and needs of rural Oregon are heard and addressed in leadership discussions across the state.

As a city councilor for the City of Prineville, I worked to strengthen our local economy and make our community a more attractive place to live and work. I played a key role in establishing the downtown association, which revitalized our downtown area by promoting local businesses and fostering a sense of community. I also spearheaded efforts to lower development fees, making our city more competitive and helping to attract new investment. A major focus of my work was supporting economic development initiatives that created family-wage jobs, ensuring that Prineville continued to grow while providing meaningful opportunities for local residents.

During my time as the Economic Development Director for Prineville & Crook County, I had the exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects that brought major tech companies like Facebook and Apple to the region. I was the local liaison between these companies and government entities, helping to secure significant investments and economic growth for the area. My role involved recruiting new businesses, facilitating local business expansions, and working closely with city and county governments to create favorable conditions for economic development. Over 1,000 jobs and $2 billion on new economic activity have been added to the community since 2010.

During my time at KEZI-TV, I took on the role of news anchor and reporter, where I focused on developing compelling news segments that resonated with our viewers in the Eugene area. I was responsible for producing in-depth reports, covering both breaking news and long-form stories. In addition to my reporting duties, I anchored the evening newscasts, bringing professionalism and a keen sense of storytelling to every broadcast.

My career in broadcasting began as a news anchor and reporter for KTVZ-TV and KEZI-TV, where I had the opportunity to cover a wide range of stories, from community and business affairs to political developments. I led our newsroom teams in story development, writing, and on-air broadcasting, and I anchored the evening newscasts. It was an incredible experience that taught me the importance of clear, concise communication and how to engage with diverse audiences on important issues.
