I work for Flatirons Solutions, formerly called InfoTrust Group. I was fortunate to come on board 7 years ago at the very beginning of the project I am still working on today. It was a new initiative to create an infrastructural technology stack for creating extensible enterprise applications. I've been able to see this project through from its inception through to maturity, and had many adventures along the way. Recruiters: I'm not currently looking. Thanks.I also worked for this company when it was a startup and had a different name. I helped build the software that sold the company. It has been a wild ride!I love creating great software and working on great projects with great people - who expect great results. I love a solid challenge and always want to do something amazing. I've known that I wanted to do this kind of work since I was a kid, and I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love. Not many people get to say that.I am a Linux fan-boy. I made the switch about 5 years ago to force myself to learn system administration. Now I can't imagine software development without it. I am very senior in my Java skills. I am close to competent with the new JavaScript stack and am actively doing work there. I am refreshing my skills with C (25 years out of date?), just to increase my knowledge of Linux. Of course, I've had the opportunity to work with a lot of different languages and tools over my career. I have decades of experience and I still love to study.Recently I read the Getify "You Don't Know JS" series of books, and I am starting to really develop my JavaScript chops. I am doing a little work with node.js and MongoDB. I am currently reading "The Linux Programming Interface" (1500 pages) - out of curiousity, mainly. I really love the simplicity of C, even if it isn't practical for some of my needs. I am also deep-diving into Spring at the moment.
