I am an aspiring civil engineer seeking to improve myself and those around me through communication, dedication, and education. Residential structure design is the specific field in which I intend to do that upon graduation December 2021. During my time at FAU I have taken courses in structural analysis, concrete design, and foundation design. The concepts learned in these classes will directly translate to my career goals. Also, I intend on completing the FE exam in 2021 and later obtaining my Professional Engineering License so I can design and seal structural designs.I am currently working as a truss designer. In this role I have learned how to interpret professional building plans. I have seen countless details and understand how they affect my designs. Sometimes plans can have errors or conflictions. Recognizing these things and effectively communicating issues has been a huge part of my role as a truss designer. I am very comfortable working with Architects, Engineers, and other professionals. Many times I have had to collaborate with a team in order to produce adequate solutions to satisfy the overall project intent. My experience as a truss designer is what led me to pursue my degree and eventual career in civil engineering. I am excited to complete my formal education and become a civil engineer.
