I have had the privilege to be in many roles at the United States Treasury since starting in 2006. Before then, I worked in a variety of positions in the private sector. From college entering the workforce as an analyst and programmer, I was fortunate to learn about internet applications prior to it being cool. Then as a project manager learning firsthand about the remarkable value of setting strategy, planning and scheduling, and relationship building, I have had a diversity of assignments and roles in both the innovation and execution tracks. Currently I am part of the executive team leading Treasury's government-wide shared services business. With almost 100 government agency clients with annual revenues in the $200M range, it has been an awesome experience for me. Working with many great teams and colleagues, I have been given opportunities to lead programs and service lines during this time. Today, we are spending a great deal of time, priority, and resources transforming our core business and service delivery at a time that we find our run up of success over the last 20 years to one that is defining itself for the next 20. As far as my academics and formal education, they were mostly a long time ago other than my recent stint at MIT's Sloan School of Management. That Sloan experience was eye opening for me and has really helped me define the leader that I want to be with a keen focus on strategy and innovation. I am a proud graduate of West Virginia University where I majored in finance. Fast forward to now I am getting a chance to work with the business school's dean and faculty on potential ways to create value for my business at the Treasury but also WVU's own interests. I am also a graduate of George Mason University where I received my MBA. Looking back at my "decision science" type concentration and coursework during that time, I am reminded that customer experience and data-driven decision making have been around for a long time and not just a recent fad in our marketplace. Finally, the George Washington University was able to help round out my technical acumen at a time that the web and telecommunications were taking off. Getting my master’s degree in information systems technology was invaluable and still helps me to this day. My current interests include developing trust and confidence in govt, promoting empathetic leaders, driving business innovation, telling a good story/drawing pictures, and influencing the future of work/the worker. I love to read, network, challenge status quo, and always on the hunt to learn.
