• Inherited the backend for an application which allows users to arrange or offer housing for tourism• Technologies Used: Apache Cassandra, New Relic, Node, Loader IO , Express, AWS, NGINX• Handled the calendar module and was responsible for ensuring that there would not be multiple bookings to the same home on the same date• Designed a database schema to support production level traffic by minimizing the amount of queriesImplemented a load balancer on NGINX to handle 2700 request per second, a response time of under 100 ms, and 0% error rate• Stress tested microservice with Loader.Io on New Relic to reduce database bottlenecks by implementing a cache and horizontally scaling Apache Cassandra
