In this consulting role, I provided learning design and media guidance for a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Fiscal Transparency. This course was designed for finance ministers and tax administration officials of African countries. My role involved developing an organized structure of the course (i.e. course alignment map) and offering expert guidance on media design and production to enhance the course experience.

In an inaugural role at the IMF, I introduced instructional design as a core element in the development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). I contributed to the delivery of 8 major course projects for finance ministers and central bankers across IMF member countries. This role involved regularly collaborating with and bridging expertise with economists, technical staff, and multimedia professionals to produce high-quality online learning experiences. My responsibilities included project managing, establishing the primary course design, writing/revising instructional content and assessments, contributing ideas for visual communication, applying educational research to enhance learning outcomes, and generally setting standards for course design and multimedia production.

Partnered with MIT faculty, Harvard-MIT medical doctors, and senior education staff to shape Master’s level programs for the newly established Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow, Russia. My work included project management and instructional design of courses in biotechnology, energy science, and information technology. The pedagogical focus for these was on in-person experiential learning and involved designing for periods of learning, applying, and creating a business proposal. I designed courses using systematic instructional design, and incorporated engineering, design, and entrepreneurial thinking. I also contributed to the design of an ethics in research seminar series, administrative processes for the new institution, and presented to leadership on developments within the education team.
