Jason Watts is a Principal Software Engineer. Colleagues describe him as "Jason is an absolutely phenomenal senior engineer and architect, contributing significantly to Songbird's classic Desktop software, and most recently, our new iOS app. While my primary responsibilities were to coordinate our company's engineering effort as a whole, I also had the privilege of collaborating directly with Jason as we co-developed the Songbird iOS app over a 9+ month period. During this time, we shipped frequent major and minor revisions of the app, and I came to appreciate Jason's engineering acumen and work ethic to an even greater extent. Jason took what began as a quick proof-of-concept and and skillfully employed design patterns as appropriate to create the foundation for a production-worthy 1.0 app, which we delivered in only a few months with exceptionally high quality. His deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, as well as experience with iOS (& MacOS) and media frameworks were also invaluable. Jason was both a joy to work with and a joy to manage, and his involvement helped make the iOS project a personal highlight for me at Songbird.
