Our brain is one of the most power-efficient computational tools – yet, we are far from understanding its underlying mechanisms. As a theoretical physicist by training, systematically investigating such a complex system with mathematical tools fascinates me. In my PhD work, I focus on understanding the visual processing by our brains using biologically realistic neural network simulations. My projects at Jülich Research Centre allow me to combine my biggest passions: project-based problem solving, scientific programming and (graphical) science communication. Let’s connect to discuss science!
