Turbine Control Engineer
CurrentResponsible for the manual and automatic operation of the turbine and its auxiliaries in coordination with local operation personnel and other support groups for safe, efficient, reliable and economical continuos operation of the plant.• Starts-up turbine auxiliaries; services Bearing Cooling Water and House Service Air Compressor/Instrument Air Compressor System, start Circulating Water Pump System, sets up turbine oil tank, Auxiliary Oil Pump, Seal Oil System, Jacking Oil Pump, and Turning Gear Oil Pump, services turning gear/device, starts up turbine oil purifier/separator.• Services Condensate and Feedwater systems; maintains Hotwell level, starts Condensate Extraction Pump, fills up and maintains Condensate Storage Tank level, starts up Boiler Feed Pumps and heater drain valves and pump and coordinate with Water Laboratory personnel regarding the recirculation of feedwater during start-up.• Tends turbine and auxiliary equipments, controls operating limits, monitors and maintains turbine parameters.• Prepares and set turbine for rolling; resets speed governor and load limiting device, resets turbine control valves, warms up turbine steam chest, confirms opening of turbine control valve, stops turning gear, sets turbine at soaking speed, matches turbine metal temperature, sets turbine at synchronizing speed.• Performs post synchronization activities; services initial pressure regulator/IPR, transfer turbine control.Coordinate with Boiler Control Engineer and Electrical Control Engineer during start-up and shutdown of the turbine.• Sets the turbine and its auxiliary for safety isolation during maintenance work. Coordinates with maintenance in the safe conduct of equipment repair/restoration.• Observes safety and corporate rules, proper turn-over of responsibilities, clearance and tagging procedure and performs good housekeeping.
