As a freelance engineer, I have completed multiple assignments. One project was designing and building a sample spool machine for 3D-printing filament. This machine makes (semi) automatic small sample spools out of a large spool. With this machine I partly designed and build the machine and programmed the entire control system. I also did several small design and 3D print assignments.

During my Short Term Internship at CERN I was part of the Superconducting magnet design and technology section. I worked on the development of the new generation of supper conductive accelerator magnets. During the winding process I fount out a problem with the cable tensioning system so I:Defined and designed a new machine for windingsuperconducting magnetic coils. Due to new features and abetter design of the machine, the magnetic coil quality willincrease and Less chance to damage the expensivesuperconducting cable because of a feedback system and safetysystems. The machine will be easier to handle an will monitor thewinding process. During the process I also designed, build and tested a prototype tension sensor together with a feedback system. This system is used in the actual winding process.

At Nikhef I've been working on developing a cooling system for electronics. These electronics will be placed in one of the detectors of the particle accelerator at CERN.I made thermodynamic calculations and simulations using hand calculations, Excel and the simulation program Comsol. I also submitted a out of the box concept, material selection and advice.
