In my role, I coordinate communications for over a dozen members of the Michigan House Democratic Caucus. This includes writing press releases, statements, editorials, and speeches. I also oversee press conferences and media enquires in addition to general communications strategies. The members I work for represent communities across Michigan which requires me to have an understanding of a diverse set of communities, issues, and priorities.

#WalkTheVote is a national organization which encourages voting parades on the way to ballot drop off boxes. I was the first captain for #WalkTheVote when I began organizing weekly marches of Michigan State students. I assisted captains in communities from Georgia to Idaho in organizing their own walks, helped to design social media posts, and worked with the press on promoting events.

During the consequential 2020 election, I helped to coordinate work between Congressman Kildee's reelection campaign and other campaigns up and down the ballot. I drafted social media posts responding to breaking news and promoting the Congressman's accomplishments, oversaw yard sign distribution throughout the district, and headed up fundraising initiatives.

While working for Leader Greig, I was able to learn the crucial role that state government plays in the lives of Michiganders. I conversed with constituents through phone and email, conducted research on issues ranging from combating climate change to protecting women's reproductive health, and helped plan numerous events.

Interning for my Congressman Dan Kildee provided a wealth of experience about the integral role District Offices play in community outreach. I frequently listened to the concerns of constituents, assisted caseworkers with their duties, wrote numerous proclamations, and attended community events with the Congressman.

After volunteering for well over a year for Congressman Kildee’s reelection campaign, I was promoted to being a paid campaign fellow. My duties consisted mostly of alerting supporters to upcoming events through phone calls, staffing events, fundraising work, and assisting fellow staffers.
