PhD in BiologyCurrently working on a Swiss Government Excellence funded project that will be leading to a PhD in biology. The project focuses on the biocontrol of the invasive fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, and the banded cucumber beetle, Diabrotica balteata, using Photorhabdus entomopathogenic bacteria.

Currently leading Four projects: Systems Strengthening to Enhance Solar Energy Use and Services in Uganda (SESEUS), with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) – Germany (2023 - 2025), Transitioning Youth to Sustainable Livelihoods (TYSL) project in partnership with the Swiss Academy for Development (SA4D) – Switzerland (2022 - 2025), Women’s Livelihood Improvement (WeLive) Project in partnership with Feed The Minds - UK (2023 - 2025) and co-leads a GIZ tendered project on Promotion of Rural Development in Uganda (2018 – 2024).Past projects led:1. • Testing mortality effects of different botanical insecticides and Entomopathogenic fungi doses against insects • Investigating behavioural responses of insects towards control agents • Entrainment of volatiles for conducting electroantennography experiments • Establishing and maintaining multiple insect colonies, rearing them as necessary to support bioassay testing needs and ensuring the health and stability of the insect population. • Experimental design and analysis of statistical data using the R – software• Documenting data in lab notebooks and summarizing results in study reports • Generating results, delivering presentations and discussing results in team meetings• Participating in scientific writing and all processes of publication

MSc. Agriculture for Sustainable Development

• Managed farmer trainings and expanded the out-grower programme to Omoro district.• Managed over 70 demonstration plots every season to showcase new technologies, high yielding crop varieties and good agricultural practices for maize, rice and Soybeans• Organized over 10 farmers’ field days every season within Nwoya district to facilitate farmers learning in their demo plots• Analysed farmers’ crop potential and prepared season planting returns for the trading team to plan of grain purchase• Mobilized farmer groups for business training such as farming as a business and financial literacy• Initiated collaboration with Stanbic bank, Pakwach to deliver financial literacy trainings to farmers• Participated in collecting information from farmers, in soft and hard copy data and provided the information to monitoring and evaluation team

• Managed all aspects of seed production in Kiboga, Mubende, Mityana and Gomba district• Carried out seed inspection, in liaison with senior seed inspectors at the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Forestry• Managed beans and soybeans breeder seeds acquired from Namulonge Crops Resources’ Research Institute and distributed foundation seeds to contract farmers• Managed over 150 demonstration plots per season in the central and Eastern region of Uganda• Monitored contact grower’s field, produced seasonal planting returns and ensured purchase of quality seeds from farmers• Planned and designed participatory approaches for farmer groups to liaise with Victoria Seeds Limited• Produced a data base for commercial farmers, NGOs, agro-dealers and customers in central Uganda• Participated in identifying premium market situations for the company seeds

• Assembled farmer voice radio team, radio extension officers and community knowledge workers for meetings, assessed performances, identified challenges and determined solutions• Conducted needs assessment and problem analysis among farmer groups and facilitated farmers in addressing their identified priority need/problems that required immediate intervention• Trained 30 farmer groups as well as encouraging farmers to listen to agriculture radio programs• Broadcast agricultural information needed by farmers on radio talk shows and programs. • Used short clips and short dramas for farmers’ learning• Identified and invited district technical experts or extension workers working in other organizations to attend agricultural programs and talk shows• Provided technical support to farmers through farm visits and gave on-the spot advice• Produced monitoring and evaluation report for Farmer Voice Radio and submitted to the sponsors, Grameen foundation• Recorded farmers; innovative ideas, success stories and disseminated to other farmers
