Headed E2E Architecture function across Optus Networks covering broad set of technology domains including Mobile, Voice, Fixed, IP and Transport, Video and IPTV, Network and Cyber Security, SDN, Telco Cloud/NFV/Containers, MEC, Orchestration and Automation etc. to deliver network services and capabilities to meet business needs.

Headed Software Engineering, Video Engineering and Architecture functions within Optus Networks to continue driving the technology evolution to introduce key enablers required for “Digital Everywhere” and software-defined future. I led and successfully delivered a multi-disciplinary cross-domain/cross-BU program to deliver 5G Speed leadership in Sydney and Melbourne.

Led a team of E2E Solution Architects accountable for delivering cross domain solutions using Mobile, Voice, VAS, Telco Cloud, SDN and Orchestration technologies across Optus Networks. Key achievements:• Created Network Digitalisation and Orchestration/NaaS blueprint for Optus Networks.• Created of E2E architecture for IoT and M2M services, and introduction C-SGN, SCEF, AEP etc.• Led cross domain collaborations ensure architecture alignment with overall Networks' blueprint.• Provided technical leadership and architecture governance to various engineering groups.• Delivered major projects including 5G NSA introduction, Consumer FWA product launch, NFV Telco Cloud capabilities introduction and onboarding of vEPC, vIMS, vSDM etc., Network Data Collection and Analytics to support BigData enabled use cases

Headed IP Design function across Optus Networks with number of Network Design teams (including IP Core, Mobile IP Services, Mobile Transport, Enterprise and IP Security), supporting design and delivery of products and services, including delivery of underlying capabilities to support Consumer and Enterprise BUs. Along with other IP and Transport design/technology deliveries, also successfully delivered on-boarding of Fortinet SecGWs for 4G mobile backhaul and migration of traffic from incumbent vendor.

Led a team of senior architects accountable for delivery of E2E solution architecture across Mobile, Voice, VAS and Cloud domains. In this role I successfully delivered number of key programs and transformational activities, including creation of Telco Cloud strategy, creation of NFV and SDN tender technical requirements, led NFV and SDN tender evaluations, alignment across Optus and Singtel to drive regional tenders for E2E Orchestration and NG-OSS, introduction of IMS and VoLTE and VoNBN, introduction of mobile policy platform and implementation of RAN congestion management use case etc.

Led the formation of strategic architecture in-line with future business needs and technology strategy for Engineering and Design groups to follow. In this role, I successfully led cross domain, cross region collaboration on number of transformational activities including leading architecture alignment for SDN and virtualisation.

Led IP and Security solution architecture across Optus’ Fixed and Mobile network, and successfully drove the transformation of Optus’ network supporting fixed and mobiles services, including through:• DCI and Virtualisation Infrastructure for VAS services• E2E IP and Security architecture for 4G/LTE introduction • IP Subscriber Management Introduction for Mobile data services (pre-dates 3GPP R8)• Mobile IP Edge Expansion, 3G IP RAN and 3GPP R7 Direct Tunnel Introduction• Carrier Grade NAT introduction for mass market Mobile data services• Messaging and Application Gateway Introduction• Local Access Telephony over IP for Optus Cable Products

Architected, designed and implemented IP traffic management platform on all international peering links for International Internet Traffic Management, resulting in realising multi-million dollar savings per annum in international link costs.

IPSTAR Australia is a fully owned subsidiary of Shin SatelliteEstablished IPSTAR Phase 2 earth stations and headend capabilities across Australia and New Zealand for commercial launch, as well as oversaw day to day engineering and operational activities performed by the technical teams based in Australia and New Zealand. Also led architecture/design and implementation of IP/MPLS backbone network connecting Broken Hill and Kalgoorlie Earth Stations to Metro IP POPs in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, as well as international and domestic IP peering.

Designed and implemented satellite broadband technology solutions (including IP/DVB, SCPC, IPSTAR etc.) for number of partners/customers across the APAC region. Including an 12 months overseas assignment to Australia, where I led setup of IPSTAR Phase 1 infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand.

Managed Networks division of Regional ISP (Glide Internet) at SAB Infotech, including Engineering, rollout and operations. Led architecture, design and rollout of 12 ISP POPs across Sates of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
