Check out my new website at www.jattmenkins.comHi, I'm Matt.In the last few months I have taken the plunge and moved from Brighton, U.K. to Vancouver, BC. It was just time for a change. Back home I have been a Graphic Designer for the last 10 years - working before I had even graduated from Northbrook College in 2008 with merit. Before I left, I was working for the same agency, Calico, for nearly 9 years. In the time I was there, it went from a print management company with a design and website service to a respected studio with loyal, happy clients. I loved my time there and was very proud of what we'd achieved. I'm my time there I worked my way up from starting as a junior to studio manager and had my hand in nearly every project with the sharing the responsibility with my MD of having the final say before proofing and production.Since leaving the UK and moving to Vancouver (amongst the logistical nightmare of moving country), I've been mainly freelancing and working on my pet passion in the form of a children's book. I've always been an avid illustrator and into character design so saw this as an opportunity to indulge this passion, and explore a subject close to my and my families heart. I'm a positive, enthusiastic and personable person who, so I have been told, am easy to work with.I'm interested in working In a fields that I am personally a fan of such as branding but also keen to expand my horizons into areas of the design industry which I have had only had limited time to sink my teeth into such as video games, film, music or just about any other art based industry. From the short time I've spent here, Vancouver seems like the perfect place to do that!
