Internship about the modelling of the SpaceWire and SpaceFibre Traffic on NS-3.In particular I designed and implemented an ECSS-E-50-11C (SpaceFibre) compliant network simulator based on NS-3. That included the several layers of the protocol stack, end nodes and routers. Internship on the study and development of a base station for the reception of ARGOS messages. ARGOS is a satellite based tracking and communication system used in environmental studies and for the protection of seas. The goal of the internship was double: first to analyse the implications of an hybrid system with a double link ground-sat and ground-ground, and second the design of a prototype of a ground station transceiver based on a Software Defined Radio (SDR).My main tasks were:- A feasibility study trading link budget, interference and overall network capacity based on the current ARGOS 2&3 against other IoT protocols- Design of the RF fronted and selection of the RF hardware (antennas, filters, LNA, limiters, etc. ) for a demonstrator of an ARGOS ground station,- Generation of synthetic ARGOS signals with Matlab- Design of custom reception blocks with GNU-RADIO
