District Director, ADA AVID PROGRAM: Oversight, implementation, and coordination of the AVID college readiness program.Additional Responsibilities:• Develop AVID Site Plan and District Director Plan• Direct site team meetings for strategy and development of programming• Student application, interview, and selection• Prepare parent/student informational presentations • Data collection analysis for district certification• Train and recruit university tutors• Research funding opportunities for program sustainability• Coordinate parent workshops pertaining to college readiness• Coordinate college field trips, research and apply for funding to continue these trips• Collaborate with Content Specialists in order to assist them in disseminating AVID strategies, resources, and information for proper distributionCommunity Engagement Coordinator Responsibilities:• Family and Civic Engagement Team Implementation to increase student attendance, OGT/OAA scores through increased community involvement, mentoring, and academic barrier removal• Community Open House,College Fair, Academic Awards ceremonies: planning and coordination of annual events• Initiated the “Dare to Read” program, blog, and website to engage all students in 20 minutes of Reading per day in collaboration with Akron-Summit County Public Library.• Coordination of Financial Literacy Seminars for students and parents• Track Student Participation in community engagement activities• Coordinate and Instruct Parent Workshops• Coordinate and Facilitate Parent Leadership Team Meetings • Survey Data and Reporting and Data Collection for McKinney-Vento (homeless) students• Act as homeless liaison to ensure McKinney-Vento students are properly enrolled • Record keeping and state reporting for McKinney-Vento Students• Coordination and Facilitation of Bullying Prevention Seminars for grades 6-12
