I supported attorneys with the preparation, serving, and filing of answers to unlawful detainers, rent adjustment program petitions, exhibits, and other materials as necessary. I also case-managed an average of 15 and up to 30 housing cases a week and facilitated communication between attorneys, monolingual Spanish-speaking clients, and community stakeholders to combat the displacement of historically marginalized communities.

As a research assistant for Dr. Peet, I helped research the legal & other barriers towards asylum for LGBTQI+ migrants, specifically transgender women. Our paper, titled, “Seeing Trans- in Transnational Migration: Transgender Migrants and US Immigration Policy and Practices" was presented by Dr. Peet and myself at the International Studies Association (ISA) Conference on September 23, 2016.

A research assistant for Dr. Hondagneu- Sotelo, I compiled literature reviews as well as transcribed interviews with monolingual Spanish speakers for her research on “Green Spaces in South Los Angeles” & “The Well-being of Children in the Age of International Migration.” Most notably, I was a third co-author on her research titled, “Children and Migration in Western Asian Contexts: A Comparative Reflection.”

Roybal-Allard was the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee on Homeland Security). Additionally, I reported on foreign & domestic policy briefings for Legislative Staff & Chief of Staff as well as answered hundreds of constituent calls.

As a Student Administrative Assistant, I helped coordinate over ten annual fundraisers in the LA area, including the LAA Gala at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Additionally, I organized weekly alumni and student events throughout the year that include various speakers and alumni networking events.
