As a Marketing Coordinator at Feeding America, I'm working behind the scenes, collaborating with the digital marketing team. From being active with the community on social media to assisting with email campaigns and keeping the website up-to-date, I dive headfirst into the world of nonprofit marketing. Learning the ins and outs of running a large organization, my journey at Feeding America has been a blend of creativity, strategy, and making a real impact in the mission of ending hunger in America.

During my college years, I worked closely with the director of communications to develop new content for Instagram and Facebook to further awareness of the mission of Habitat for Humanity. My days were a mix of scheduling, crafting, and curating engaging content. My goal was to invite people in the Richmond community to join our journey of building homes and changing lives. This role was a chance to be a digital storyteller, connecting people with a cause that matters.

I was accountable for establishing and promoting the Fresh Prints brand on campus at the University of Richmond, while working closely with the business development manager. My role involved consulting with student organizations that were interested in custom apparel, guiding them through the design and product selection process to create unique merchandise. I acted as a liaison between the art team that creates the designs and the operations team dealing with products so that there were no issues with the orders.I joined Fresh Prints at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although I faced many challenges due to the pandemic, I was still able to cultivate relationships with 13 clients. Successes included generating over $25,000 in sales in the fall semester of 2020.

I played a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's online presence and communication strategies. I created engaging social media content on a weekly basis for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I expanded my role to take on website management responsibilities and ensured the website had current content. Additionally, I crafted compelling email newsletters to communicate with the email audience. Working in a small team, I was able to expand my responsibilities and broaden my skillset.

I successfully proposed and implemented a new look and style for Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center's WordPress website. This helped create a visually appealing and user-friendly interface that resonated with the center's mission and values. To help drive traffic to the site, I created new content for search engine optimization purposes. This opportunity allowed me to polish my skills in HTML and web design. I learned a lot about search engine optimization, digital communications, and the psychology of web design.
