Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute is one of the main health research centers of Osakidetza SVS (Basque Health Service). It is accredited by Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) as one of the reference Health research Institutes in Spain. Biogipuzkoa preferentially promotes patient-centered translational research. I currently work in the Projects Unit as head of European and international projects, supporting researchers in project management and in search for competitive funding.

I am currently working as a free lance consultant in projects related to life sciences and biotechnology. I am an expert in business strategy, business development and project management. I have been working for many years in technical, business development, and project management. I am currently supporting SMEs , research centres and public institutions in the analysis and support of life sciences projects. My job expertise include:- Elaboration of business plans, exploitation plans, marketing plans, market studies...- Elaboration and assessment in project proposals for national and EU research programmes, especially in H2020 SME Instrument and FTI Pilot programmes- Defining strategies for technology transfer, commercialization and internationalisation

Teaching 120 hours in two different courses: 60 hours in a Chemical Biotechnology course and 60 hours in a Product Manager course in the Chemical Industry.

I worked in the Food Research Division of AZTI research centre, developing strategies and methodologies of valorization and commercialization for technologies derived from different research projects. I was also working in Project Management in an ERANet LAC project (SUMO project) and supporting in the preparation of project proposals and exploitation plans.

During this period of time I was living for three years in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was working as a free lance consultant in different projects. From June 2014 to September 2016 I also worked evaluating projects in H2020 EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. I worked as an External Expert evaluator and monitor for EASME agency in the SME-Instrument and Fast Track to Innovation Pilot (FTI-Pilot) programmes. In this period of time I evaluated more than 150 projects in biotechnology related topics.

Hexacreen CT was a spin-off from Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). The company was founded in May 2005 by researchers of these universities with the support of public institutions and two private investors..The company developed technologies for cell culture screening .My main responsabilities were:- Develop the Hexabatch and Fedbatch projects.- Report periodically to the Board of Directors.- Establish alliances and collaboration agreements.- Financial management.- Sales&Marketing management.- Responsible for dissemination and promotion activities (publications, conferences, congresses...) Just to highlight some the most relevant milestones:▪ We got public/private funding for the Hexabatch and Fedbatch projects.▪ We signed important R&D agreements with universities and research centres.▪ We launched the first product to the market (Hexabatch) that was evaluated in some reference companies and research centres (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UCB Biologics, Pfizer, University of Calgary, University of Sheffield,....).▪ We developed new proprietary technologies Fedbatch in cell culture (Hexascreen Fedbatch project).

3P Biopharmaceuticals S.L. is a CMO (contract manufacturing organisation) focused on recombinant protein production (biopharmaceuticals) for biotech companies and research centres. The company has got a 4,700 m2 production factory in Noáin (Navarra), Spain. It has got state-of-the-art technology and capacity for the production of recombinant proteins both in prokaryote and eukaryote cells (bacteria, yeast and mammalian cell).During my staying there I worked as Sales&Marketing director. The construction of the new production plant was finished and we established the first customer contacts.

Hiperion Biotech was a consultancy specialised in providing services to bioentrepreneurs, companies, research centres and investors in the area of biotechnology. My main responsabilities were: - Design and implement the strategic plan of the company.- Sales&Marketing management.- Financial management.- Establish alliances with companies and other organisms.- Attend conferences and congresses to promote the company.The Hiperion Biotech business project was awarded in December 2003 with the prize "Sustatu Bideberri" by the Diputacion Foral de Bizkaia. The main goals of the company were: - Supporting bioentrepreneurs and SME biotech entreprises to start up and grow their businesses.- Supporting venture capital firms and business angels to invest in biotechnology projects.- Making technology surveillance in biotechnology for public and private organisations.

Dade Behring is currently part of the Siemens Healthcare Group. The company is one of theworld leaders in the area of clinical diagnostics. I worked as application specialist in different areas of clinical diagnostics, such as: Nephelometry, Serology, Coagulation and Biochemistry.I was responsible for installing state-of-the-art "in vitro" diagnostics (IVD) technology systems in Immunology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories of some of the most relevant hospitals in Spain. My job consisted in implementing new diagnostic tests, doing training courses for the medical/laboratory staff, as well as solving the technical problems. I also supported the Sales and Marketing departments in order to get new customers for the company.

The company Behring Diagnostics was part of the Hoechst AG holding group. It was one of theworld leaders in different areas of medical diagnostics, such as Plasmaproteins, Serology, ClinicalChemistry, Coagulation and Drugs of Abuse. My main job responsibilities were associated with the following issues:▪ Giving support to the Sales department.▪ Assessing new products for the Marketing department.▪ Training medical staff in the new technologies.▪ Solving technical problems related to biomedical diagnostics systems.I was responsible for installing the modern state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment that operates in Immunology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories of many of the most important Spanish Hospitals.

The company Becton&Dickinson is a world leader in biotechnology. My job was related tomonoclonal antibodies and flow citometry. I was working in the Sales Department being responsible for the commercial products of the company in the North of Spain. During this period of time I contributed decisively to introduce flow Citometry and mabs in many hospitals and research centres.
