I founded Pathotrak in 2014, to commercialize a technology that reduces the time it takes to detect food-borne pathogens from days to hours. The technology behind Pathotrak stems from my work in microfluidics at NIST, which received a prestigious Best Invention of the Year in Life Sciences award at the University of Maryland in 2015. This technology reduces costs for testing and logistics. At Pathotrak, we are pioneering rapid food pathogen detection that boosts the speed of traditional testing methods. As an entrepreneur and scientist, I thrive on collaborative problem-solving and working with bright minds to generate innovative ideas and solutions. I find joy in bringing products to market that have the potential to impact lives. My dedication to advancing scientific knowledge is reflected in my extensive publications in peer-reviewed journals and the filing of over 15 patents. My creations in microfluidic devices have facilitated beyond state-of-the-art control of system dynamics, contributing to a safer, more efficient future for the food industry.

Ceo & FounderPathotrak Jul 2016 - PresentCollege Park, Maryland, UsAs the founder and CEO, I lead Pathotrak's mission and strategy to develop technologies that reduce the time for detection of pathogens in food from 24 hours to 4 hours, helping food manufacturers cut costs, increase shelf life, reduce recalls, and avoid outbreaks that threaten life.At Pathotrak, we are proposing a bold solution that will revolutionize safety and logistics within the food supply chain. And, with this bold solution, we provide bold proof by seeking AOAC accreditation for every product we put in the market. Our ultimate goal is to improve safety in the food industry. -
Guest ResearcherNist Oct 2005 - May 2020Gaithersburg, Md, UsI led a team of researchers working on developing better measurement technologies. My time at NIST gave me the opportunity to both grow as a researcher and expand my leadership skills.I created several microfluidic devices for the study of complex biological systems with novel functionalities to facilitate beyond state-of-the-art control of system dynamics and filed for more than 15 patents during this time. -
