My name is Javier Baca and I’m a music industry professional. As for my own background, my experience in the industry is quite diverse. I have a degree inContemporary Popular Music from the Fermatta Music Academy, an institution affiliated withBerkley College of Music. From 2010 to 2014, I developed my career as an A&R at EMI MusicMéxico and Universal Music México. I personally launched a number of successful projectsincluding Zoé, Paty Cantù and the Caifanes MTV Unplugged series of concert and albums. I alsocoordinated the art and repertoire for artists like Moderatto, Eugenia Leon, Angeles Negros andEnjambre. In addition, I worked as an artistic coordinator in Westwood Entertainment. There, Ilaunched Natalia Lafourcade and Jesse & Joy’s careers, by making tours in Central and SouthAmerica, as well as in the US. In 2014, I also founded Carrusel Music Solutions, a companydedicated to Musical Branding, Music Supervising and Licensing. Currently, I am a professor atSAE Institute México, where I teach classes on music business. In addition, I have recently beenjoin Warner Music México as Synchronizing Director. Such a task implies pluggingtheir catalog in movies, series, ads and also expanding business opportunities for the label. Ifrequently collaborate with Cocolab as well, with which I have worked on projects like Insparkand Timbiriche.

Relationship with multifunctional areas to achieve the best results of the local roster.Results: Discover of new artist Sofi Mayen, today recognized by the international media and respected within the musicians and the music industry. Identification of the new trend “Electrocumbia” and the development of the compilation named: “Cañonazo Electrocumbiero” first album of this music style in a major label.
