Went straight to the Navy after high school. I was stationed in Norfolk, VA my first 3 1/2 years in the Navy and got the opportunity to visit Spain, Norway, Italy, Croatia, Puerto Rico, and Canada. The last 1 1/2 years i was stationed in San Diego, CA and visited Hawaii, Guam, Singapore. My duties on the ship/my job were to assist in the navigation of the ship, using radar equipment, charts, and GPS to detect other ships, airplanes, and submarines in the area, while communicating with the Bridge in order to assist in navigation. My primary duty in the Persian Gulf was to main a tactical picture of all air traffic.
