Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy American University, Washington D.C., United States of America. He received his Master of Public Administration and Policy from Wagner Graduate School of Public service at New York University in 2007 and his Economics BS from Universidad de Chile in 2002. As a Senior Development Economist he is committed to leveraging his expertise in policy and development to drive positive change in the world. With over 18 years of experience working in various capacities across the development field (academia, IFIs, and the private sector), he bring a wealth of knowledge and skill to bear on complex challenges related to poverty reduction, economic growth, and sustainable development. His research is focused on public policy analysis and evaluation, microeconomic development, poverty, inequality, and social protection systems. He has worked as an economist at the World Bank a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington D.C. and the UN development system, as well as advise several governments in different areas. His international work as ranges from pension reform in Trinidad and Tobago to poverty measurement and social program targeting in Indonesia and impact evaluations in Nepal, Nicaragua, Lao PDR, and Cambodia. As a professor he taught graduate and undergraduate courses on poverty and inequality, public policy, economic development, microeconomics, administration and finance. From 2016 to 2021 he was the Academic Directer of the Master Program in Economics and Public Policy (MEPP) at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Since September 2021 he is the SDG Integration Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at the United Nations Development Programme advising countries and senior management on how to tackle complex development challenges and accelerate the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals.
