About Javier Cárcel Hidalgo-Saavedra

Javier holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Contemporary Physical Performance Making (CPPM) at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (2022-2024). After graduating in 2010 from the International Laboratory of the Actor in Motion in Valencia (Spain), directed by Olga Peris, he began his professional career as an actor in "Hamlet, Retrato de Familia", directed by Ximo Flores, a production of Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana.​At the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona he held a B.A. in Acting and Theatre Studies (240ECTS), specializing in Physical Theatre (2010-2014). He worked in Barcelona as an actor, singer and dancer in "Alarma Nuclear: Un drama Familiar!" by the company La Palpebra; "Fuenteovejuna: Breve tratado sobre las ovejas domésticas", by the company Obskené; "Tu vas Tomber", by the physical theatre company Moveo (Winner of the public award in the Festival Internacional de Danza de Huesca 2016); "Flying Pigs", by the choreographer Eulalia Bergadà; "En Construcción 2", by Amalia Fernández, and "Personne", by the choreographer Andrés Corchero (National Dance Award of Catalonia 2003).His artistic research lead him to continue training with theatre, dance, and singing specialists such as LosCorderos.sc, Stèphane Levy, Gey Pin Ang, Milòn Mela, Pere Sais, Teatr ZAR, Natalka Polovynka, Matej Matejka, Carlota Subirós, Andrés Corchero, Alejandro Tomas Rodriguez and Thomas Richards.In 2016 he was invited by Thomas Richards to join The Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards – National Theater / Teatro Della Toscana, where for 6 years he developed, under the direction of Thomas Richards, his craft as an actor, singer, director, and performance creator. At the Workcenter he delved into the praxis of the performing arts research initiated by the Polish theater master Jerzy Grotowski based on ancient songs of tradition and theatre, that Thomas Richards developed after Grotowski's death.He performed with The Workcenter in Europe and Latin America as an actor and singer in "Sin Fronteras", "The Underground", and "Songs of Tradition".In 2022 he founded the NO(W)HERE Performing Art Lab, with which he continues the pedagogical activity started in 2015 teaching workshops for different schools, universities, theater companies, and independent professionals in Spain, France, Italy, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and USA.

How long does it take for these corpses to become romantic?How long does it take for these bones to become mere objects, losing their identities?How long does it take for them to become “just history”?
