Javier de León is Full Professor and member of the Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development (TIDES) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ULPGC, Spain. Likewise, he is Co-Director of the UNESCO Chair of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development of his University. He was Director of Cooperation in Vice-rectorate for Internationalisation and Cooperation of the ULPGC during 2017-2021. His research interest areas contain sustainable tourism, climate change, circular economy, social representations, public administration, development and cooperation. He has written more than 50 scholarly articles, books and book´s chapters. He is actively involved in several research projects and cooperation projects (under Erasmus+, H2020, Interreg Europe). Nowsame he is coordinator of the Erasmus + entitled “Strengthening Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer on Climate Change & Tourism in Higher Education Institutions in Latin America” CLIMAR.
