Javier Muñoz is a specialist in comparative commercial and corporate Law, actively advising in all sorts of corporate restructurings, M&A transactions and commercial deals for both local and global clients since 2003.Mr. Muñoz holds a Law Degree (LL.B.) from UPCo-ICADE, where he further conducted specialization studies in Business Law, leading to his obtaining of a Business Law Specialist Diploma. He also graduated with distinction as LL.M. in Law of the European Union at the Institute of European Studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he specialized, inter alia, in International Private Law. Furthermore, he holds an MBA from ESADE Business School.As a legal practitioner, Mr. Muñoz spent several years working for different leading law firms in Madrid, where he actively counseled in Competition, Corporate and Commercial Law for several Fortune 500 clients in different economic sectors (i.a. services, tourism, consumer and industrial products, retail). He has also been a member of the German Desk and a member of the Private Wealth Team at PwC. His international profile and his professional command of several European languages led to his increasing dedication to international and global clients and transactions, in both the continental and the Anglo-American legal systems, where he is an active practitioner.For the last years, Mr. Muñoz has worked as General Counsel – Chief Legal Officer in several international business groups in the U.S.A. and Spain. He is currently the General Counsel at PRISA Media Group, carrying-out business in the media sector in ten different countries. He is also a member of the Board of Directors at several media entities in different countries, and a member of the Board at the Spanish Commercial Broadcaster Association (AERC).Prof. Muñoz is also a very active lecturer, namely, though not exclusively, in the Comparative Civil Law and International Contracts domains. Since 2006, he lectures at both the Law School at Instituto de Empresa and at IE University. He is also a guest speaker at different international universities and a frequent speaker in international legal forums.
