Works closely with senior management to develop and implement financial plans to support the business strategies. Directs the development of detailed profit-&-loss analysis, financial analysis, and overall business analysis. Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering internal financial functions, external reporting and administrative functions.• Responsibilities include directing the accounting function, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, main cashiers, business plan assessment, asset management, governmental reporting, grants accounting and reporting, foundation accounting and reporting.

•Duties include but not limited to: Plan, organize, implement, direct, and review functions performed financial accounting services staff to account for the estimated and actual revenues, expenses and assets acquired with Federal, State and City funds.• Create and review grant financial analysis reports, financial statement preparation, cost/benefit analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, budget request consolidation, cash flow and expenditure monitoring. Quarterly and annual Federal report submittals (FFR’s) and personnel record keeping.•Conduct the annual external Single audits and prepare the Comprehensive Annual Financial (CAFR) and The Schedule of Expenditures of Federally awarded (SEFA) reports.• Troubleshoot non-routine transactions, oversee and analyze the daily financial transactions of the Grants Division. Review and posting JEs to the general ledger.• Supervise three Senior Accountants, and a Sr. Payroll Specialist. Assigned projects to staff, guide and monitor work. Provided staff training and development. Identify and resolve staff differences, conflicts and deficiencies. Interview applicants.

• Preparation, review, and analysis of consolidated financial statements. Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Preparation of performance summary reports,2footnotes and supporting schedules, cash posting, bank reconciliations, revenue reconciliation analysis. Review financial results and collaborate with finance and operations teams to analyze variances and ensure the integrity and completeness of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Reconcile and analyze accounts payable and general liabilities accounts. Preparation of 1099 forms. Preparation of year end reports and audit reports. Prepared and posted journal entries, coordinated month end close. Prepare and review budgets and financial reports. Assist with external federal audit requests from: HUD and IRS. Generation of monthly expense reports for federally regulated grant programs. Conduct and evaluate revenue targets and program analysis to ensure financial and program stability.

• Duties included but not limited to: Calculation of mineral rights royalties for Potassium-Salt products payable to Federal, State and private land owners. Calculation of royalty severance and excise tax reports payable to the State of New Mexico. • Balance sheet reconciliation and high detailed analysis. Analysis of ratio to sales for royalties paid.• Preparation of EOM journal entries such as: Freight allocation, intercompany clearings, prepaid amortization, sales commissions, cash deposit payments, A/P and royalty accruals entries, miscellaneous receivables, etc. • Monthly cost reviews for P&L analysis and explanation for high expenditures. • Quarterly SOX Compliance narrative reporting. Assist in general accounting projects.
