The design was in charge of the architects José Pagán Pares and Mercé Martínez from MAPA Arquitectos, and the landscaping by the landscape architect Tamara Orozco Rebozo. Co-Founder/Executive Director of Neeuko Collaborative Innovation Lab at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in Santurce, San Juan Puerto Rico. Led the concept, business propoposal, design development, construction and operational kick off, of Puerto Rico’s first collaborative innovation center within a 135 years liberal arts university in the most dense creative distristic in the island. With an investment of over a 1 million dollars and a combined budget $550,000.00 annual operational budget and grants. As Neeuko’s Director, participate in the the conceptualization of a new innovative academic project (RBK), a new innovation and research architecture, intellectural property development, commercialization of stratetigic university assets, proposal development for external funds and chairman of the Strategic Plan Committee.

Founder and Dean of the School of Architecture of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Led the academic proposal presented to the PUCPR Academic Senate and Boards of Trustees. The School’s capital investment was 14 million dolars and operates with a consolidated budget of 3.8 million dolars including a 15% from external funds. Succesfully led the National Architectural Accrediting Board and Middle States Comission of Higher Education. The School of Architecture received a Special Distintion in the Architecture Education and the Community Category: “The School is a catalyst of opportunities. Students are well preprared: to be active, engaged citizens: to be responsive to the needs of a changing World; to acquire the knowledge needed to address pressing environmental, social and economic challenges through design, conservation and responsible professional practice; to understand the ethical implication of their decisions; and nurture a climate of civic engagement” (NAAB Team Visiting Report 2013). From academic teaching to academic management roles, each of the diverse functions performed presented a great learning experience that contributed to a well-rounded professional career. I offered graduate and undergraduate courses in Architectural Design, Architecture Theory and History of the Twentieth Century Architecture. As part of the managerial roles, I founded the architecture and culture magazine (IN)-formA that received the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects in 2001 and Honorary Award at the Biennale of Architecture in Puerto Rico in 2001. This magazine, the first of its kind in more than 30 years in Puerto Rico, consisted of an interdisciplinary Editorial Board with architects, philosophers, sociologists, historians, lawyers and theorists of architecture representing countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba and Puerto Rico. In 2002-03, while occupying the position of Assitant Dean, De Jesus was recruited by the President of the University of Puerto Rico to create the New Office Design and Construction of the Central Administration, and the creation of the Board of Excellence in Design for Conservation and Promotion of good design in the eleven (11) University's campuses.
