Javier Medina Email and Phone Number
I am an Accounting and Management student at The University of Utah — First-Generation college student. A lover of teamwork, building up individuals, and customer service. I recently changed my major from Business Administration to Accounting, so I am interested in opportunities to learn more about accounting in a hands-on experience, working with real customers. I moved to the U.S. 5 years ago, and this fantastic experience has helped me develop additional talents, skills, and professional resilience. Restarting my professional life in a new country with a different language and culture has been challenging, but you know what? If I could do that difficult transition successfully, rest assured that I can fix issues stopping the progress of the organization I work for. For a few years, I thought I would play professional soccer as a career, which I did for a few years; however, life had other plans. As an athlete, I had opportunities to build discipline and a growth mindset. Also, that experience pushed my mental and physical limits many times. I saw that, as John Wooden said, "A player who makes a team great is more valuable than a great player." I learned firsthand the value of teamwork — my professional life has been impacted by acquiring those emotional skills as a youth. Now, I find myself training customer service representatives, fixing complex issues to assist clients, and providing feedback to improve customer service practices. Seeing things with a positive perspective helps my team navigate difficult times until we figure out the solution. I am very attracted to the financial world, banking, investments, and technology. Therefore, computer software and technology come easy to me. I have several skills that enable me to think creatively; among those are:--Microsoft Excel Specialist.--Managerial and leadership experience with small and large groups of people.--Planning projects, operations, and selling over 50 products.--Bilingual: English and Spanish.--Critical thinking to solve complex issues.--Understanding the bigger picture to pay attention to small details.--Emotional intelligence to work with other people's needs and manage my own emotions.--Multitasking skills.

Global Support Floor Lead, Global Services Department, DistributionThe Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints Dec 2020 - PresentSalt Lake City, Ut, UsA Global Support Floor Lead must be a subject matter expert in several internal policies and customer service practices. I perform tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, supporting a team of over 40 Customer Support agents while assisting Team Managers and a Senior Manager in improving customer service practices and tools. My team has a high turnover; therefore, I am constantly training new employees and setting up their computer equipment and software to start training. This constant training process requires us to find better ways to train new hires. For example, I design training videos and documents that allow new employees to review what they couldn't understand during training hours or refresh what they have learned. As a Floor Lead, more than supervising the work, I am a resource for employees to get answers to resolve complex customer requests. Transmitting the organization's core values, culture, and vision starts with me, as I am responsible for providing the initial new hire training. I am constantly analyzing and improving my training skills to teach efficiently. -
