I'm working with XBRL since my final year engineering project at the University in 2004, the same year XBRL Spain association was born and 3 years later I joined the association, first like a Technology Coordinator and later as a Technical Director. Since these years I've been involved in taxonomy development (Spanish GAAP taxonomies) as well as coordination and management of XBRL working groups. My University background (M.S. Computer engineering [1999-2005] and B.A. Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications [2002-2006]) has been always driving my passion: the research, analysis & development, so I enjoy a lot giving speeches, teaching XBRL in universities and write XBRL-related papers.Starting from 2007 I've combined my role as manager of XBRL Spain with my role as a freelance XBRL consultant, working in XBRL projects around the world, this is a summary of the most important ones:- From 2016 to 2019 I worked in the European Union's FINSTAR project. This is the Technical Assistance in the Financial Sector’s Priority Areas of Ukraine. My job is to support and advice the European Delegation to Ukraine in the capacity of Senior XBRL Expert for Taxonomy development.- From 2012 to 2015 I worked in the development of the Colombian FSA IFRS-based Taxonomy, including 60+ entry points for banking, insurance, trust, listed companies, and other industries. - From 2012 to 2013 I worked as a Functional XBRL Expert in the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) / WS XBRL providing a standard Metadata Container to enable XBRL sourcing, with in addition necessary compliance tools to enable all stakeholders to test and ensure full adherence to the technical standards. - From 2009 to 2012 I was a professor of the CEDDET Foundation on the e-learning course Interactive Data (XBRL) for Financial Supervision.I'm passionate about collaborating with not-for-profit organizations, so I spend most of my free time volunteering in the EuroFiling and OpenFiling projects.
